folder_add Creating unfound categories: if the categories mentionned in the CSV file do not exist in the ddatabase, you can create them automatically by ticking this option. With the default position (unticked option), products are placed into a new hidden category bearing the name of the imported CSV file.The creation of unfound categories (option ticked) also allows paths to be deteted: if " Men > Shirts "is indicated for a category by default, Store Commander will test and if necessary will create categories " Men " and " Shirts " and will then place the product inside categories

 

Lines to import: if you wish to process your your file in chunks, please modify this value. When importing images, the process takes much longer: it is advisable to lower this limit so as to give enough time to the server to process all information.

 

database_go Import: magic button to carry out the import

 

clock Automatic import tool: displays a tool allowing you to relaunch the import process automatically every X seconds. Define the interval you wish and then click on the start button to begin: control_play_blue. The tool will automatically desactivated itself once the import is finished.

 

Import results

 

One must be aware that an import does not necessarily work correctly the first time. Do not panic!

 

To begin with, Store Commander creates a working copy of your csv file called yourFile.TODO.csv. Every time a line is correctly imported, this line is then deleted from this file. You are then left inthis file with only those products with problems or that remain to be processed and you can modify them to terminate the importation without having to start the import process all over again. If you do not wish to use the working file TODO.csv and re-use your original file, simply delete this working file: it will be re-created using your CSV file.

 

Store Commander then analyzes all data from your CSv file and will sugget to create some elements very quickly such as suppliers, manufacturers, characteristics...that do not yet exist in your database. This allows you to continue importing with confidence and you will only have to complete information pertaining to these elements at a later stage.

 

After each correction you make, please re-click on the import icon on the toolbar in order to obtain further instructions up until you see the message indicating the importation has been successfully completed.
