Working With the Categories Tree

This tree displays all the categories in your e-store in the selected language (see the products table toolbar for changing the language setting).

catalog Category visible to your e-store visitors

 

catalog_edit Category hidden from your e-store visitors. However, you may use links to products in this category to make them visible to visitors (unless they are deactivated).

 

folder_delete Trash: place any products and categories you wish to trash in this category. To empty the trash, just click on the corresponding toolbar button.

 

 

Reorganizing Categories

 

You may drag and drop categories to rearrange or move them.

 

Pop-Up Menu

 

Right-clicking on a category displays the following pop-up menu:

 

  • Category IDxx: Category_Name: Displays information on the selected category.
  • Expand: Opens out the entire tree structure. Please note that if you have a large number of sub-categories, applying this action to the Home category could take several seconds.
  • Collapse: Closes a branch of the tree. If you collapse the Home category, the first level of sub-categories always remains visible.
  • View in store: Opens a new browser tab showing the category page as viewed by the visitor.
  • Edit in PrestaShop Back Office: Opens a window displaying the PrestaShop Back Office category editing page. On closing this window, the category tree is automatically refreshed.
